1. Bayreuth Microplastics Symposium
The 1st Bayreuth Microplastics Symposium, organized by the Collaborative Research Center "Microplastics" of the University of Bayreuth, was opened by University President Prof. Dr. Stefan Leible and Prof. Dr. Christian Laforsch, spokesperson of the SFB "Microplastics".
The opening lecture was held by Prof. Dr. Richard Thompson, University of Plymouth/ Great Britain, on the topic "Microplastics in Oceans".

From 28.2 to 4.3 there was an exhibition of collage artworks made of plastic by Mbongeni Buthelezi and an FSB Microplastic Science Rally.
